1. The concept of chip resistors

Chip resistors are also called chip resistors and surface mount resistors. Like other chip components, chip resistors are a new generation of leadless or short-leaded miniature electronic components suitable for surface mount technology (SMT). The welding surfaces of the leading ends are on the same plane. The main function of chip resistors in the circuit is to reduce the voltage, share a part of the voltage, that is, voltage division, current limiting protection circuit, shunt, etc., and can also be used as time circuit components and sensors.

2. Characteristics of chip resistors

Surface-mounted resistors are one of the components of surface-mounted vitality parts. They are passive components and are mainly used for thick film and thin film circuits as external components. It is generally classified in two ways. Classified according to characteristics and materials: thick film resistors, thin film resistors and thermistors. According to the shape and structure classification, it is divided into rectangular chip resistors, cylindrical chip resistors, and special-shaped resistors.

3. Classification of chip resistors

1) Thick film resistors Thick film resistors mainly refer to resistors printed by thick film technology. This kind of resistance has rectangular, ribbon, curved or other shapes. Commonly used in the manufacture of precision resistors and power resistors. Commonly used thick film resistors are made by printing and sintering metal ruthenium resistor paste. The resistance paste contains ruthenium oxide, organic solvent and glass beads. The resistance after sintering consists of two aspects: the resistance of the ruthenium oxide itself and the barrier resistance.
