What is the difference between Android motherboards, industrial motherboards and ordinary motherboards?
Commercial motherboards currently mainly adopt the ATX architecture, and industrial motherboards have developed motherboards of various sizes in order to adapt to a variety of application environments. Including ATX, Micro-ATX, ETX, LPX, CPCI, PICMG, POS and other specifications.
Ordinary motherboards can only provide 4 to a maximum of 5 PCI slots. Subject to the PCI specification, only 4 PCI slots can be used at the same time. Moreover, the drive capability of PCI 4 is seriously attenuated, so most commercial motherboards only provide 3 PCI slot. While the industrial motherboard, due to its industrial design, supports multiple PCI slots, and easily supports 10 or more PCIs. For example, SK-1015P12 and SK-1021P17 support 12PCI and 17 CI respectively. When used at the same time, it will not cause the attenuation of PCI drive capability. At the same time, it can support high-bandwidth PCI-E devices. With ISA slot, it can realize good support for industrial ISA low-speed acquisition card and data card. Embedded GPIO bus can realize GPI and GPO functions.
Ordinary motherboards are mainly aimed at the timeliness of the product and the market positioning of its own products. The selection of components generally only needs to meet the system operation requirements and the service life of about 3 years. The industrial motherboard will select components that have been tested for a long time and with high requirements in the selection of components to ensure the normal operation of the product under harsh conditions. For example, solid capacitors and enclosed inductors, which are only used in commercial servers, are widely used in industrial motherboards.
Industrial motherboards are required to work in harsh environments (long working hours, harsh weather, humidity, vibration, dust, radiation, high temperature, etc.), which commercial motherboards cannot do. Most commercial motherboards operate in a relatively comfortable environment (short working hours, indoor, normal temperature)
The replacement speed of the ordinary motherboard market is quite fast, so the average commercial motherboard only has a life cycle of about two years. In industrial motherboards, the market replacement is relatively slow, so the life cycle will be relatively long, which can be as long as 5 years.
Ordinary commercial motherboards generally only need CCC certification, Great Wall certification, and civil electromagnetic compatibility certification required for electronic products. Since industrial motherboards are aimed at the industrial market, each motherboard will be tested and certified for CE EMC, FCC, QA realbility, CCC, vibration, drop and other industrial-level requirements before listing.
Ordinary commercial motherboards only provide simple remote management (using third-party software, such as REAL VNC, PC ANYWHARE, etc.). In addition to providing similar remote connection management, the industrial motherboard can also realize the function of remote unmanned automatic switch on and off. Through the embedded IPMB, SMNP-1000 module, the management, recording, and sending functions of the real-time operating information of the system can be realized.
Ordinary commercial motherboards can no longer be modified according to the needs of market users after they are produced by manufacturers. But many industrial-grade motherboards can flexibly meet the follow-up special needs of some customers. The scalability is relatively strong.
Ordinary commercial motherboards only provide common storage interfaces IDE, SATA. Industrial control motherboards can provide IDE, SATA, SCSI, CF card, DOC and other multi-storage interface requirements.
The protection function is not provided by ordinary commercial motherboards. Through special design, industrial-grade motherboards can realize watchdog automatic restart function and anti-surge function when encountering abnormal conditions such as crashes, so as to ensure the high stability requirements of the system in harsh environments.
Ordinary commercial motherboards can basically only be used in an external environment between 5 degrees and 38 degrees. Industrial-grade motherboards can work stably between 0 degrees and 60 degrees, and even some industrial control motherboards can operate normally in an environment where the temperature is between -20 degrees and 70 degrees.
Ordinary motherboards are based on standard products, with large output and market scale. The output of industrial motherboards and the market size are relatively small.
