Tutorial For The Loop Design Of POWER In PCB Layout

Engineers have been working on PCB layouts for many years, summarizing some of the main areas of concern, of which the POWER circuit is one area worth considering.  So, how to do a good job in PCB board design of the POWER circuit (Dual Power System/DPS)?

 

First, the power plate is more important to bear the power circuit part, in the layout should first know the power part of the circuit characteristics, in the power supply circuit is mainly divided into DI/DT circuit and DV/DT circuit, when walking the layout of the two lines is not the same.

DI/DT circuit because its unit time is relatively large when the current changes, so this part of the circuit in the loop should be as small as possible for the entire circuit loop area. The voltage of DV/DT circuit will change greatly in unit time, which is easy to cause external interference. Therefore, the copper sheet should not be too wide in the loop of this circuit. Under the condition of meeting the bearing current and keeping the copper sheet width as small as possible, the overlapping area of different layers should be as small as possible.

Two, the driving part of the line should first consider the area of the whole driving ring, as small as possible, to stay away from the interference source, and as close as possible to the driving part.

Three, sampling signals must avoid mutual interference of other signals as much as possible. If conditions permit, sampling signals can be sampled at different locations and given a complete ground plane at the corresponding wiring location.
